NEWS FLASH FOR 2021-2022

I have returned to the thing that I love, making music. It has been a long strange trip that brought me back to my website but I'm glad to be back and welcome you all back as well.

I've continued to write songs and have returned to the studio to record. If I return to performing I'll do original songs rather than cover material.
I thank all of you who have supported me over these years and hope that we will meet again. Below I will give a short summary of this long trip away from this site.

So what happened after 2017 that took me in a different direction? As many of you know I had been playing out locally in several different venues including Zola's in Auburn, Charlie's in Puyallup, and Ferrelli's Pizza in Frederickson to name a few. Sometime during that period I got into an auto accident, not my fault, and thought I was OK, but I was not. Later that week I had to perform at Charlie's and realized that handling the setup and breakdown of the equipment was too much for me. It also affected me having to stand and play for that many hours. As some of you know I always stand when I play because it's the only way I feel engaged with the audience.
After the gig I took a permanent sabbatical from playing out live. During the recovery, along with doing my day job I continued to write songs with hopes of getting back into the studio.
I finally decided it was time to to record these songs I had been developing over my time away. The first song that I wanted to lay down was a song call:
"Should Know Better". I felt it had a positive message of overcoming that I needed to fully produce into a finished song.
I started looking for a studio. My first choice was a Seattle recording studio where I laid down a guitar track, bass track and a vocal track. This was the last time I went back to Seattle to record. In addition to the rates being higher, I also had to pay for parking, not to mention the drive and traffic I encountered in Seattle. To top things off I got a photo traffic ticket. The good news about "Should Know Better" is it was finished in a incredible professional studio in Federal Way.
The completed song is available for listening at several outlets https://richardnagle.hearnow.com/should-know-better

The next part of this journey is the most exciting. How I found my next and best recording studio.

My journey to Henderson's Studio was somewhat serendipitous. As I was investigating different studio's I would look for the address and drive by to see how far it was, and in what kind of structure it was housed before I contacted to owner.

When I went looking for Henderson's Studio it appear that the address didn't fit. I was forced to contact the studio to see what was wrong. I talked with Dick Henderson who said that Google had the address wrong. I got the correct address and that brought me to the doorstep of one of the most talented musician, producer, and recording engineer that I have every worked with, Richard Henderson.
Besides finishing "Should Know Better" I went on to record 4 more songs for a total of eight to date. I have only published and distributed four at this time but during that time Richard (Dick) and I have become good friends. Why not, we work so good together.

If you'd like to be in the RNAGLEARTS FAN CLUB, email me @rnaglearts@gmail.com and I'll add you to the distribution list.
I'll leave you with a line from the chorus of my song "Almost Me".
"Almost me, got my hands in the moment and my eyes fixed on a dream".

Thank you
Rich
